Spotlight Special PC Howard LTD

Today's roads are chock-a-block with motorists desperate to get from A to B. Amongst the rush of vehicles, there are a few names that stand out (and no we're not talking about the new Mercedes!). In our spotlight special series, we will be talking with a few big names in the world of HGVs, vans and Lorries. Today we have selected a company that saw its foundations during the 1920s; PC Howard. PC Howard has established themselves as a reputable business, and its roots trace back to the family farm where milk from the cows was produced and delivered by a 14 year old boy; Percival Charles Howard. A little further down the line now, 1933 saw the marriage of Percy Howard and Connie Blake. Whilst her specialty remained in teaching, she soon decided to become a Farmers wife where she and her husband were able to establish a business relationship. The family moved again to Huskinsons Lodge Farm, and this is where the business would change forever to provide us with the fleet service we have today. On this farm, Percy discovered surveyors who informed him that the land was being requested in order to create an Air Field for the Air Ministry. He then decided to buy his first ever lorry in 1939 and eventually moved into the haulage industry, followed by a purchase of buses in the 1950s. During the 60s, the Howards family's three eldest sons decided to become part of the business that Percy had built. Within the business, they found and grew into their own specialities. The first business artic was purchased in 66, and Percy sadly passed away in 68, however, his wife continued the legacy until she passed away in 1975. By then, the youngest son, Anthony, had become a major part of the business and together, the brothers started haulage work in Corby  this work would go on to last for more than a quarter of a century. This is just a brief bit of the early history on how PC Howard came to light. So, what does the company stand for? Well, as the main provider of distribution, transport and other services, the company aim to deliver an honest, quality service in the UK. They have four primary depots of which are based in Peterborough, Northampton, Corby and Swindon. In 2012, the company received an award in the Palletways competition and came out soaring with a platinum prize.
